at a glance, in passing, or through a window- kind of disheveled, hits the 5'9 mark but stands with a lazy slouch, probably has his hands in his sweater pouch, or his pockets. distinctly won't have neat hair, it's always a bit of a bird's nest (intentional? maybe...or he just woke up late.) looks a bit frazzled, but has the sort of mellow green eyes and lopsided smile that tells you he is all things chill. hard-pressed to be seen in anything, but joggers and comfort-wear and sneakers outside of work, but he can clean up nicely enough for professional reasons (and yes, his hair is probably still a mess even then.) probably looks like the sort of person who started out saying 'yeet' ironically, but somewhere down the line it became blatantly unironic. raised in alola by his wildlife researcher father, lam moved himself over to hoenn once he was able to maintain some degree of independence (able to spread his wings, if you will. hardeeharhar.) chasing some big lofty dreams, settling down in slateport city didn't necessarily turn out to be as easy a task as he initially guessed. stubbornly, he's stuck it out, though, so maybe that should count for something. maybe that's why he's been an intern and glorified personal assistant at an art gallery for ages and ages, when really he'd rather be the one having his work showcased (alas, always the bridesmaid and never the bride.) but hey! at least it's a paid internship, etc. etc. it could always be worse--ignore the part where his kitchen sink has a perpetual drip and all of his money goes exclusively toward paint, birdseed, and cup noodles (maybe in that order, who's asking?) even so, he's not homesick until you remind him that maybe he should be at least a little homesick. so it's easy to coax him outside of the city where he might sketch or play at inspired artistry. but really lowkey he's probably just collecting data to send back to his dad, primarily on the migratory patterns of the birds and miscellaneous flying types in the region.[break][break]
